Dance Attire
There's no strict 'uniform' at Dance Canvas, as we encourage students to express their creativity through their dance attire (while keeping things classy and tasteful - i.e. no bare midriffs). However, most classes do require one or two essential items. Here are a few guidelines to help you pick the right outfit for your child...
We recommend www.discountdance.com for all your dance attire needs!

Creative Dance
Clothes: Comfortable clothing. A fitted t-shirt and cotton shorts or skirt is perfect. If they want to wear a leotard they can, but we don't require you to buy specific dance attire at this point.
Shoes: Bare feet or ballet shoes. There are advantages to both. Dancing barefoot can help young dancers develop the arches and muscles in their feet and can also connect them to the floor to feel grounded. Ballet shoes give them the experience of taking a dance class and having something special to put on before class. The shoes help with balance. At this age, either option would be good!
Hair: Pulled back out of their face and eyes.
Dance Mash
Hip Hop / Hippity Hop

Clothes: For the girls, a leotard and tights is perfect, or a fitted shirt and cotton shorts, leggings or skirt will work too. For the boys, a t-shirt & shorts/comfortable pants would be great (no jeans).
